It has been a very hard year, both in the health field and in the economic and social sphere, in which the pandemic has continued to manifest virulently and where public and essential services have continued to be key. Therefore, on this May 1, CCOO and UGT want to value the world of work and make explicit recognition of all the workers who have been part of these essential services , who in such a complicated time and in the midst of a plague of infections have been at the forefront. Now it's time to comply. It is necessary to place in the social dialogue the matters related to this enhancement of the world of work and essential activities and, urgently, to launch the pending social agenda committed to by the Government. This involves putting people first in the reconstruction policies of this country.
To do this, it is urgent to finalize the negotiation of the matters that were pending at the social dialogue table with the arrival of the pandemic (repeal the labor reform of 2012, end the duality of the labor market, recover the ultra-activity of collective agreements and the minimum reference of sectoral agreements) but other measures must also be addressed, such as a contracting reform that puts an end to the high Belgium Mobile Number List and endemic temporary nature; negotiate internal flexibility measures against recourse to dismissal; bet on a public pension model and repeal the unilateral reform of the PP of 2013; improve unemployment benefits, renew active employment policies; approve an equal pay law or promote a crash plan against accidents that stops the unacceptable numbers of workplace accidents.
Also consider the Government's refusal to raise the Minimum Interprofessional Wage , which affects the most vulnerable people, many of them workers in essential sectors, to be unjustifiable. The country is indebted to its working people. Now it's time to comply with and improve labor rights and living conditions and call on business organizations to promote bipartite dialogue and seek a new Agreement for Employment and Collective Bargaining (AENC) that facilitates the development of collective agreements to face a fair and equitable exit from this crisis, which does not involve a devaluation of salaries, and advance in the processes of modernization and adaptation to the new realities that are occurring in the world of work. UGT and \, internationalist unions, we take advantage of this date to remember the thousands of people around the world who fight for better living conditions for workers, even risking their lives.
